Colt 45s 2020 schedule promises excitement at Tiger Field

40 plus home games at Redding's Historic Tiger Field in 2020

The Redding Colt 45s have released their preliminary 2020 schedule for summer collegiate wood bat baseball, promising a challenging and exciting 17th season for players and fans.

More than 40 games will be played at Historic Tiger Field, with action scheduled most weeks Thursday-Sunday, beginning with the home opener Friday, May 29, against Santa Rosa. All games are evening games, most starting at 7:15 p.m., with Sunday games again starting at 6:00 p.m.

“You’re gonna have Wednesday through Sunday games, seven of the nine weeks,” said Rick Bosetti, General Manager of the Colt 45s. The team is also negotiating to add a touring all-star team from Australia, tentatively scheduled for the third week of July.

“I think it’d be good for the game, good for Redding, to give people the chance to see baseball with an international flavor,” Bosetti said.

The team has placed on emphasis on consistency in the home schedule, embarking on fewer road trips to assure their fans get to see the best competition and the players get the best chance to build their games to the next level.

2020 marks the 17th season that Redding will host what is known as one of California’s premier summer collegiate programs. Other big events on the schedule include the traditional 4th of July celebration, offering fans the chance to sit on the field after the game against Portland, giving them an excellent view of the city’s annual fireworks display.

The schedule includes games against traditional rivals from Portland, Fresno, Fairfield and Santa Rosa, as well as 2019 additions to the schedule, the highly competitive S.F. Pufs and West Coast Kings.
